Lindfield Deck and Rumpus Room

Architects: Anthony Henry – Bean design
The job entailed the conversion and improvements to an existing 2 story deck with minor modifications on the interface between renewed and existing.
At the high level the client wanted a generous undercover area extending off the main living room that was substantially more weather proof than the previous clear covered pergola that the family could use for alfresco dining & entertaining as well as a permanent furnished extended living area. The two distinct areas were created over an existing structural deck. Aranac provided a new lined roof with 5 huge skylights allowing for plenty of light into the existing rooms as well as the new outdoor dining and BBQ areas.
On the lower level the existing deck was enclosed to extend the downstairs study and bedrooms into one large room. The existing external bifold doors remained in place to allow sectioning of the area for muti-use.
The challenges on this particular site were compliance with bush fire regulations and weather proofing the existing deck structure. Aranac worked in conjunction with the architect to detail these particular areas to the satisfaction of the client, council and BCA compliance.
